The Garden is a speculative digital ecosystem that explores the future of bio-aesthetic identity
through a hybrid virtual species, 蝴蝶兰骨 / Hudielangu. The Chinese name 蝴蝶兰骨 combines 蝴蝶 (butterfly),
兰 (orchid), and 骨 (bone), reflecting the creature’s synthesis of insect, botanical, and anatomical
structures. Each Hudielangu is generated through a custom-trained generative machine learning pipeline, built on a self-curated image dataset and GAN training conducted in Google Colab, followed by post-processing.
The project frames each Hudielangu as a
living digital species with identity and ownership. This work speculates how visual structures, interface logic, and interaction can condition meaning and presence within digital environments.
